Seven policemen including three members of the Inter-Agency Task Force have been detained for allegedly illegally quarrying in east Trinidad.
A police raiding party acting on information went to the back of the National Quarries operations in Turue, Guaico, where the men were reportedly conducting the illegal activities.
It was reported that the IATF officers tried to run on seeing the lawmen but were held by the officers.
Some $1 million in quarrying equipment was also seized.
Police have sent the files to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and they are awaiting his direction before laying any charges.
