A government minister feels its up to the Prime Minister to determine whether an inquiry should be done into the affairs of the Urban Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister of Housing Dr. Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde says a call for an inquiry into the UDECOTT’s projects is totally up to the prime minister.
Former Trade and Industry Dr Keith Rowley had called for the government to monitor more closely the operations of the company.
He felt the state company was given too much leeway.
Speaking to the media at the Crowne Plaza this morning, Dr. Forde said she expected to get a report on her desk today concerning the company.
However, she did not want to comment any further on the issue.
When questioned about if she was one of the cabinet ministers that resulted in Dr. Rowley’s expulsion.
Dr. Forde felt that these questions should be directed to the prime minister’s office.
