An early morning accident near Claxton Bay has caused the deaths of two 28-year-old men.

Dead are Nixon Basdeo of Benday Street in Felicity and Richard Ballah of Cacandee Road Chaguanas.

Newspower understands the accident occurred around 3:30 this morning along the North Bound Lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway in the vicinity of Macaulay, Claxton Bay.

Richard Ballah, the driver of a Corolla motorcar is said to have lost control of the vehicle which ran off the road, overturned several times, finally crashing into a light pole.

The men died on the spot.

As a result of the accident there was a huge traffic pile up along the North Bound Lane of the Highway.

Investigations are continuing.
